Biggest Single New Aircraft Order
Posted by: Alan
Airbus has just received what it says is the biggest single order for new planes in the history of aviation.
Indian low-cost carrier IndiGo has committed to buying 180 aircraft at a list price cost of $US15.6 billion.
The deal includes 150 of the new A320neo jets, which are claimed to be 15% more fuel efficient than current A320s.
The previous biggest order was placed by a Chinese group in 2005 for a total 150 Airbus and Boeing planes.
